Benefiting from the expansion of the downstream lighting market, midstream packaging and lighting application companies have significantly increased their shipment capacity in the first half of this year. Surface mount packaging has also entered a standardized period. At the same time, the era of high profits in the LED industry is over, and lighting companies' demands for the production capacity of automated equipment such as chip mounters are also increasing.

Benefiting from the increasing volume of the downstream lighting market, midstream packaging and lighting application companies have increased their shipment capacity in the first half of this year. Surface mount packaging has also entered a standardized period. At the same time, the era of high profits in LEDs is gone, and lighting companies' demand for the production capacity of automated equipment such as SMT machines is also increasing.

Shenzhen E-Tong Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "E-Tong Automation") developed the HT-X7 LED mounting machine with a mounting speed of 100,000-120,000 CPH. Due to its high efficiency and compliance with market development needs, it was shortlisted for the 2014 High-Tech Golden Globe Award for automated equipment production lines.

The company's LED high-speed mounting machine has a production capacity exceeding 120,000 points/hour, approximately three times that of current mainstream equipment on the production line. Its production capacity ranks first globally, significantly reducing processing costs, saving labor costs, and reducing factory space.

The HT-X7 is the first SMT machine in China to utilize electronic feeders and has obtained invention patents and multiple utility model patents. It features a self-developed "group pick and place" patented mode in its mounting method. The spacing of the suction nozzles can be adjusted freely according to the width of different lamps. The electronic feeder of the feeding system and its control system are also independently developed by the company.

Yu Yaoguo, general manager of E-Tong Automation, told a reporter from High-Tech LED that the biggest advantages of the company's SMT machine are "speed" and "stability." This is consistent with the needs of the rapidly developing market.

When the entire industry's SMT machines were still using suction nozzles for single-piece mounting, E-Tong Automation's soft light strip mounting machine HT-E4 took the lead in using the patented 'group pick and place' technology, capable of mounting 60 pieces at a time. Yu Yaoguo explained that although the single-time consumption is relatively long, more chips can be mounted each time, achieving high efficiency and stability through quantity and speed.

Regarding the shortlisting for the 2014 Golden Globe Award, Yu Yaoguo was pleased but not surprised. The company recruited more than 30 professional talents from the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries and regions in the field of SMT equipment research and development. They developed the patented "group pick and place" method and launched mature models to the market. The market's recognition of the equipment after use, and the steady increase in orders, made the shortlisting for the High-Tech Golden Globe Award expected.
