TrendForce's LEDinside's latest price report indicates that in October 2017, global LED bulb prices continued to decline. The average retail price of LED bulbs replacing 40-watt incandescent bulbs fell by 1.7% to US\$6.2, while the average retail price of LED bulbs replacing 60-watt incandescent bulbs also decreased by 1.7% to US\$7.4.

The average retail price of LED bulbs replacing 40-watt incandescent bulbs fell by 1.7% to $6.2, while the average retail price of LED bulbs replacing 60-watt incandescent bulbs also decreased by 1.7%, reaching $7.4.

Entering the fourth quarter, some manufacturers adopted low-price promotional strategies to boost sales, leading to a continued decline in global LED bulb prices in October.

LED component prices remained stable, with multiple manufacturers launching new products.
  In terms of LED packaging in China, prices remained stable in October. Compared to August and September, the LED industry's business climate warmed up in October. Although LED chip manufacturers' inventories increased, it was still within the normal range. Chip prices remained stable, resulting in relatively stable LED packaging prices. Some manufacturers launched new products. In the mid-power segment, Lumileds released the LUXEON Stylist series, targeting the fashion retail and food lighting markets. Its 2835 and 3014 products use FreshFocus technology, emphasizing full color gamut and high light quality. In the high-power segment, Hongli launched its anti-sulfurization "screen-sealed" series of LEDs, including AT50/AT70, improving reliability and extending lifespan. International manufacturers such as Cree and SSC also launched new products, focusing primarily on small size, high brightness, and high color rendering.

To boost sales, the price drop of bulb lights in Europe was significant.
  Regarding global LED bulb lights replacing 40-watt equivalents, Germany saw the largest price drop at 4.1%, with some products experiencing significant price reductions primarily due to manufacturers' low-price market grabbing strategies. For example, Osram's 4W 470lm bulb light price dropped to $5.87, a decrease of 26%. Prices of other brands, including Philips and Sylvania, also fell. The UK saw a price drop of 4.0%, with most product prices decreasing. Osram also launched two new products, both 6W 470lm, priced below the market average. In China, prices fell by 1.1%, with most products maintaining stable prices, although several Philips products saw price reductions. In Japan, prices rose by 1.2%, with Panasonic launching several new products boasting higher luminous efficacy than previous products, but at prices above the market average. Other regions saw the following changes: the US dropped by 1.9%, Taiwan by 2.6%, while South Korea remained stable.

  For the 60-watt equivalent segment, the UK saw a 3.7% decrease. In addition to price drops of existing products in some markets, Osram and Philips introduced low-priced new products. Philips' 8W 806lm bulb light, sold in packs of four, was priced at only $9.3, significantly below the market average. Japan saw a 3.6% price drop, with existing products from Panasonic and Toshiba experiencing significant price reductions, although newly launched products were priced higher than the market average. Other regions saw the following changes: Germany decreased by 2.8%, China by 1.5%, while the US increased by 1.1%, with South Korea and Taiwan remaining stable.
